What is your most mysterious or most spiritual experience while travelling?
Was it the time when things worked out in a very abnormal way? Did some person you met, blow your mind completely? Did nature "speak" to you like it was alive? What else?

These kind of things have happened to me couple of times when in a suitable mindset: open to all possibilities life can offer, expecting the best.

They are not very easy to describe.

Usually it begins something like this:
You get in some kind of mess, in your head or in real life. Things seem to go wrong: lost in a slum, missing that bus, meeting people that can't be trusted of just being unsure and discouraged about the whole trip.

And suddenly it is all gone: There is an angel in a form of an friendly old grandfather, who stops by you in a wreck of a car and takes you to safer area from the slum.

All discouragement disappears when you see that rainbow arching over bucolically perfect picture: lambs and a shepherd in a green hill and air is full of smiles.

You missed that transport because of trusting in a sloppy ticket booker. But then, at last moment you manage to get to another vehicle instead, where your soul mate just happens to sit by you. Here you had to come, thousands of miles away from home to meet a person that makes you feel more alive than anyone, just by being himself. The easeness of communication feels like you just have entered a river you had only watched from the shore before. And the river gives the words effortlessly, there is no self-consconsciousness. Just happy amazement.

As I said, hard to explain of define those most real moments of your life.

The speed that it can occur while travelling is fantastic, one moment you are the regular mini-me Confused and the next your soul embraces every shore Smile.

I think I know what you mean? It is as if everything is connected and every little thing... good or bad in the past was neccessary to get you to this exact/particular point in time?

And..Your realization of the above causes you to rejoice in the toatl awareness of this?

Joy... amazement...wonderment...and a sense of a connection to the whole universe is the by-products of this realization?

Sounds wonderfull. I hope everyone comes to your realization!

I know exactly what you are talking about!

Ain't life a kick?

We should start a thread on fate/destiny vs. choice...It is one heck of a marriage!

I think that the last 5 years of my life have been a constant diatribe between choice vs. destiny. as with all things there is a balance, i understand...but i'm concerned more about understanding the moment and how to let destiny shape, vs when i should interfere and take control of my situation...
as far as the experience..
My truck broke down once traveling through South Dakota USA, on a side highway with no traffic and nothing for about 150 miles in each direction. I walked for about a day and a half before someone stopped to help, and the gentleman fixed my truck for free, fed me, gave me a shower, and introduced me to his family. aside from this happening...the experience actually started about half a day before i met this guy...I saw a group of deer standing in a field and watched them for a bit, and that's when the feeling started..you know, that "something great is coming" feeling, and at that realization, the deer looked up at me...hadn't made any noise or movement on the physical plane or anything...they just read my vibe. the rest of the day until the man stopped was serendipitous and wonderful, as was teh rest of the way to my destination.
so...Are these all coincidences or was this a manifestation of Karmic transactions? or which take do you want to bring at me?
interested in your replies...

ummmmm, where am I? oh yeah, , hehe, here.
what time is it?? oh yeah, , hehe, Now.

I get these feelings often, tho not necessarily while travelling. It's a very particular feeling, almost like deja vu, but not quite. It's a feeling where the universe seems to be clicking in place.

I'm wondering whether these moments are times when we are most ourselves, or when we are ourselves as we are *meant* to be? If you believe in karma at all, each soul chooses the life it leads, and is here to overcome issues of the past.

two such episodes recently, very different ones. The first was extremely special, a month ago. The universe clicked. I was at a party, it was an amazing night. I was happy, free, without a care in the world, living in the moment, delighting in people. The universe was clicking. The setting was movielike. Hard to believe it could have been 'better'. I think I was behaving the way I was 'meant' to, in the most positive way - independent, without expectations, etc. Part of me is still reaching for that evening.

The second moment occurred last weekend. I was doing my laundry, and started reading a fiction piece in a magazine. I had a premonition about the story, and not only was I correct, but a new character came out of the blue that had the same name as mine!! The character had something major happen to her, which had happened to me in the past...and all of a sudden, there I was, looking at the character thru the eyes of the narrator...crazy

I wasn't even shocked by the 2nd coincidence, unfortunately. I think something in me just knew it had to be. Sadly, I didn't even have the eerie feeling.

I think if you're sensitive to these moments, it's all good. As for the travelling stories, it seems to register something about faith. Maybe it's all about that? faith in the universe and ourselves and that our destinies will be ok...?

just the other day I was on a beach and an old man came up to my husband and I and said that he could see that we would be together forever.

He also said that he was a saint, so who knows...though he did give some interesting tips on how to choose the sex of your baby

A few years back, my old bronco got a flat at midnight on the worst street in the worse part of town. I pulled off to the side and these shady characters started walking towards me. I dont and didnt then own a cell phone but sure wished for one that night! Plus I had no spare tire.

The 3-4 people surprised me. One woman said she was moving out of state the next day and she had an old tire on a rim that I could have. Then these 2 burly guys started changing the tire. I had $20 on me and tried to pay them. No one would take it. I felt like crying (with relief!) after it was all done. I was expecting the worst cuz it was a street known for drugs, etc. So maybe my guardian angel was working hard.

I recently moved to this area of town and now as a white person could be called a minority. I love my new neighbors and fit right in. These people dont have much money but they sure have soul ...

I was in Stratford, all alone, stayed in a B&B, have my own room, and everywhere I turn in that town, I see families or couples. I planned to stay 3 nights and I had to cause of me bus ticket, and I got lonely, and never have I felt so down in my life. Since I touchdown in England I was feeling awful, I'm used to being alone but being in Stratford alone was a real test. A friend that was suppose to meet me there did not show up nor called.

The 1st and 2nd night I said a prayer, and told GOD that I hope that my friend by the name of Joseph would appear and spend some time with me (then at least I can go boating, which is what I've always wanted to do in Stratford), and I asked GOD to make Joseph a nice and sweet person and etc. Of course me friend did not show up.

On 2nd night, things got worse, took a trip to Cotswold that bored me a lil, went to different houses of 'Shakespeare' and it started raining and I was up in a double decker getting soak (I love rain and getting soak, but it was very windy and it was painful), and my mood got worse.

For all 3 nights, I had Chinese take away in my room watching some Brit shows. I was pissed, and very very lonely. And honestly, I never felt lonely in my life.

What do you know, 3rd night, I went to a local pub to hear a jazz band and I bump into a guy, and his name was Joseph, and he was nice and sweet, and he really did cheer me up. I had an awesome time talking to him.

It was an answered prayer I would say..

Hi All,

I've had a few insight experiences on my personal development journey. One that really took me by surprise was while having a massage on a plane!!!

You can read it here until 9 November

a dream come true

if you're looking at this after 9 November, try the archive (look for "a dream come true")

Hi Dusty,

yep it was a Virgin flight, but you'd have to read the Tale to see what made it so unusual for me.

I checked the link and it seems OK, but if you've got problems try cutting and pasting the following:-
