Depends... if you have narrowed down what you want to do and if you have some idea already..then maybe folks can help in detail.
India has many places in the North and South where once can study for period etc...do you want to study or just visit for a short period.

The concentration of lot of pilgrimage sites is predominantly in the North but then one cannot generalise..Rishikesh, Haridwar, Varanasi some sites in the north...

Puri in Orissa..so many more. Then there are places in Kerala where one can do Yoga Meditation etc...

Am actaully going to Thailand for 10 day Meditation retreat in the south in Surat Thani...here is a web site for the same.

I would love to do a pelgrmige wilth some one.

I am in calcutta for 3 weeks at xmas seeing frends as well as working in a school.

If later next year or early next year I would be happyto take a year out brefore starting work in delhi.
