Does anyone feel more connected to the world through one particular element (earth, wind, water, fire...)?

I am not a religious person at all, but whenever I am anywhere near the ocean I feel deeply spiritual. Water seems to make me contemplate the larger things in life. Even if its just a rainy day or a long shower. I just feel so thoroughly connected to the earth, history, time and the world.

I have also noticed that I feel inspired by fire. Theres a refinery on the way to my job and its large flame glowing in the dark sky makes me feel excited just to be alive. The sun does that to me too (but that just might be S.A.D.)

No other element of nature elicits that deep of a reaction from me. Does anyone else feel this - what element are you most connected to? Is anyone unable to feel a connection at all?

When I feel lost I go to the beach and walk or run bare foot on the sand. It's hard not to come away feeling happy and giddy. Under any weather condition, the vastness of the sea and the sky always gives me a new perspective. I suppose the beach is one place where I can experience earth, water, and wind all together.

When I can't go to the beach, a nice warm bath, also relaxes my whole being. It's like handing my whole weight to a giant.

Fire is facinating and magical to me. Lit candles add vital energy to the room. I suppose the mesmorizing flickering effect also brings the element of the wind into the picture. Cooking with real fire (gas vs electric)makes a huge differenct to me. It is so much more immediate.

The air that we breath is the most ubiquitus and most essential wind element that we often take for granted.....

Well, I guess I can say I feel pretty connected to the world through all of the elements.

(a sort of funny after thought: I actually don't spend as much time at the beach during the "beach season". I go when it's quiet and cooler. In generally, I have spent much more time in the mountains then the beach. And I've gotten lost quite a few times in the mountains as I sometimes (often) wander off the main paths. So, as I re-read my opening sentence, I realize that it is quite difficult to "get lost" on the beach. Maybe that's why I like to go there when I feel lost.....and here's a fine example of wandering off the path of the topic....)

I love being in water. Whenever I swim in the water, I feel all my negativity goes all out into the water. Fire is good too, I really miss the fireplace I used to have back in England.

Strangely enough, my sign is Carpricorn, but I always prefered the sea instead of mountains.

Yes, I feel more in tune with earth and fire than the other elements. I am afraid of heights, wind makes me cold, and I dislike swimming and water based activities because I just don't feel comfortable in the water.

On the other hand I can run full speed over loose gravel or rocky terrain without falling, I can start compfires like I was born in the wilderness, and I love rock climbing.

I have a definite affinity for earth and fire in my personally also. I am a very emotionally stable person, like a rock. My friends know they can lean on me and I will support them in times of trouble. I have passionate opinions about everything, and I will be ready to embark on an adventure in the blink of an eye.

I like open spaces, whether it be on the top of a mountain or beside a sea. In Cape Breton Highlands National Park in Canada I experienced both. We hiked the Skyline trail in the late afternoon. It was one of the most beautiful hikes I've done. We walked through a forest with various wildlife (including a friendly moose right beside the trail!) that progressively thinned with elevation.

When we reached the ridge the sun was sinking. There was nothing but air above us and nothing but water below. Simply stunning.

I like to light things on fire. A lot.

Just kidding! I'm supposed to be an air sign, which is probably appropriate.

I'm the Cancer sign; I assume I'm 'supposed' to be a water element. But, I don't really care for water (except I love looking at it - I just don't want to get in it!!). And I hate windy days, so I guess I'm not much of an air person.

Regarding this question, I definitely have an affinity for the earth. I love the smell of soil, and plants, and really rich environments with lots of nutrients and decay and life. I love trees and mountains and rocks. I also like fire. Candles are wonderful, and I've always enjoyed bonfires. I really like the smell of a bonfire. But earth ranks first.

I'm a fellow Cancerian as well, and I do love the water, especially when it's water mixed with malt, hops, and yeast - lol.

But seriously, I've lived on small islands a total of 5 1/2 years of my life, and within an hour's driving/biking distance (or less) from substantial water the entire rest of my life. I love sailing and swimming and SCUBA diving. Guess I fit my sign pretty well.

that's why I like heat and hot places, typically. And I tend to be disciplined but impatient, as well.

I'm a double Gemini...double the air...and sometimes double the flightly-flityness. Big open skys have always been a source of inspiration, but I feel a deep connection with water as well. It's very calming.
