It probably sounds a bit stupid, but whenever I log onto these boards and read what craziness people are up to in their lives it always comforts me. Maybe because I imagine I might be able to let go and travel into the blue (metaphorically and physically) one day - but also because there's something weirdly life affirming about the things people say here - whether it's discussing God or asking about lodging in Azerbaijahn. It reminds me, that we're all travelling in one way or another - even if this destination seems scary sometimes.

Eeshk, I need to drink less coffee.

The boards give hope for sure. When you sometimes think that you're the only one out there or you desperately need the camaradarie of people who understand why you do these things you do. When the common, more popular belief is to work through life rather than live it, it's good to know that this is here and you're amongst likeminded friends.
I've never met any of you - that is my own fault but I know some of you well now and that is a huge plus. I'm not on here as much as I'd like but I never forget that I can come here and talk about stuff knowing that you'll understand and I won't be judged. It gives me strength, helps me breathe. If I've forgot to say it, I thank you all.

Yes there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run
There's still time to change the road you're on....

Ok, first of all, don't even joke about cutting back on coffee...it obviously led you to a moment of clarity. Sheesh. (sorry, I'm a coffee-holic and very scared of people who aren't) Darth Mavis

Just kidding!! But yes, bootsnall is a daily dose of inspiration (sort of, um, like coffee). It's a forum populated by people who aren't afraid to chase after their dreams. Who look trepidation in the face without flinching. People who embrace life for all it's worth.

Benanakin - glad you've been inspired!! Now, what do you want to do with it?

When I was going through a very disillusioned period of my life, these boards gave me immense hope - they were rather like lifeblood for me!! As a result of the boards, I ventured out on two solo trips, which is something I would NOT have done, had I not come across the boards and read other peoples' stories, and received encouragement and support from others. And although I used BNA as a sounding board for a lot of my angst and personal confusion (and kind of feel bad/silly about doing that, in retrospect!!), I did get a lot of helpful feedback, and even the not-so-helpful eventually helped me, too. :-) I'm getting cheesy, but upon reflection, the boards helped me in my journey to where and who I am today. I don't have the same need for them as I once did, but thought I'd jump in anyway and say I hear ya, and I'm glad you're receiving hope from them too!

When I first started thinking about travelling, about my mundane 9-5 cubicle life, and first started feeling that something wasn't quite right in my life; you know, the itch that you can't quite get rid of no matter how much you scratch... I found this website.

And although I haven't contributed much (though I am trying) just reading other peoples info, responses and oppinions has given me hope and even more importantly, inspiration to be a do-er not a talker.
I know there's others out there that feel the same way as I do about the world in general and it's quite refreshing.

Thank you BootsnAll people Big Grin
