Hi,

A friend of mine will be studying in London for a semester later this year. I've seen lots of American students hanging out around Regent's Park, I was just wondering what are the favourite pubs, clubs and hangouts of American students in London?

Jonny.

Ha ha, tell your friend to come to London to meet the locals, not to hang out with Americans ;-) (I am American/English).

My advice to him is to go to a different pub every night, but avoid the touristy pubs (and clubs) in the centre of town (hang out for one night only in Covent Garden, just to see what it is like).

Camden area is nice for students. Islington is OK, a lot of pubs out in the suburbs are good. Branch out a bit, don't just got to pubs, go to wine-bars too.

Try to go to a country/small village pub if you can, way outside of London and see what England is really like.
