Hey everyone, thought I would ask everyone what their favorite pub is in London. Because I only went to one when I was there (A very short visit) I have to say the Distinguished Gentleman...don't even remember where it was. Anyone else?

I used to hang out at the Green Man in Regents park. But really, I like all pubs!

I have not spent that much time in London but I liked one called the Hedgehog and Pheasant. Small, relaxed, and the staff had cute t-shirts with a picture of a hedgehog that said 'living on the hedge'.

Here are a few of my favourites...
Coach and Horses in Greek Street (full of atmos, poss less so now that smoking is banned!) The Blackfriar in Blackfriars (amazing arts and crafts deco) The Grenadier behind Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge The Churchill Arms on Kengsington Church St I could go on.... Time Out does a good pub and bar guide |

Basically just avoid the big branded pubs like Wetherspoons and Oneils (unless you just want cheep drinks)and seek out the more traditional English pubs and you won't go far wrong! There are some really nice pubs in Greenwich!

What are those Suffolk pubs in Soho called? They are the best.
1.99 for a pint! Can't argue with that. Trust nobody |

Are you thinking of The Champion? On Wells St, just off Oxford St? I love that place. My vote: - Troubadour in Fulham - Kind of more a coffee house/bar than "pub" but great decor, live music in the basement, amazing history (Hendrix played there!) and 2-for-1 cocktails on weeknights. - The Distillers. Also in Fulham, also music in basement. comfy seating and cosy atmos. - The Alma, Essex Road, Islington. Big squishy couches, good wine selection, good food, kiwi connection (they sell 42 below vodka!) but not a "antipodean pub" ala a certain chain that rhymes with Talk-about and smells like evil! |

I'm partial to the Boyleyn close to Upton park in East London. Though its been five years since I've been there. It also gets a little rowdy before, during and after West Ham football matches
(Disclaimer I am a HUGE West Ham fan.) "Rose City till I Die!" |
