HI folks,

First things first...I'm studying a rather useless language (Farsi/Persian), and I don't really have many options as far as immersion. I"m not at the vocabulary building portion of my studies yet, however, I do have a major concern when I do need to pick up my vocabulary....how in the hell do I expand my vocabulary if I have no idea what the word sounds like???

I would like to learn to read and write, but speaking and listening comprehension are much more important to me. I mean, I could use flashcards, but I don't think those are helpful if I don't know what the word sounds like. I know I can find transliterations, but I don't want to have to rely on that.

Blah this is a pain in the arse! Any tips from you language lovers?

Amazingly, Google has the answer.

I've checked out this site and the audiofiles play fine. There's a lot of text, but you could just hunt down the audio Smile

What did you search for to find that page?

Good find, thank you Smile

I think it was 'Farsi online audio'. I've done a similar search for Japanese recently.
