Hello. I know that information about this has been posted before but I can't seem to find it. I have an overnight layover in Jo'berg in a few weeks. My flight gets in at about 10PM and I need a room for the night. I am a female traveling alone on this part of the trip so I would like to stay somewhere close to the airport that is safe. Any suggestions?

according to lonely planet... "airport backpackers"... hostel 2km from the airport with free transfers. i'm sure there's more info on google

Hi JennDC. I'm in the same boat - I'll be at Jo'burg airport for one night in early December, and I'm a woman traveling alone so I'm willing to pay a little extra to be sure it's a safe place. However, the onsite airport hotel is charging about 400 bucks! So I'm hoping I can be safe for a little less cash. Can you tell me where you stayed and whether it worked out ok?

Do not stay at the Airport Bacbpackers! The owner is a lunatic and it is really dodgy.... I'm pretty sure there are other places that offer free transport to the airport/or at least a shuttle!
