Looking into escaping the states..and am researching into working as a Safari Field Guide in South Africa for Sept 07' Has anyone done this before..or knows about the training?

I have also heard that Botswana, and Tanzania are great places for Safari's , Which countries would people recommend as being a great place to visit but also work??

Thanks,

It sounds like a great idea but the first thing you need to research is obtaining a work visa to work in SA... they are very hard to come by because of the high unemployment rate in the country!

I found this website with the info you are looking for on field guide training!

Hey Vagabondec83

This sounds awesome, good luck with it. I always wanted to take the training, and hear it is fairly intense. Do you have any experience with this sort of work? Have you traveled in Africa much?

Let us know how it pans out....
