I'm hoping to try out shark diving, abseiling and sandboarding and have noticed they're all available in many different areas. Does anyone have tips on the best bases for each of these? i.e. I heard sometimes you can get trips to certain activities out of Cape Town but it would best to simply reach them from another town.

I'm traveling in October, if that matters...

Cheers

Best places for shark diving are Gansbaai and Hemanus, but I have also heard of good trips out of Hout bay (Seal Island)

Most of the Sandboarding in CT occurs in the Atlantis dunes and possibly still the Hout bay dunes, although it may be somewhat restricted.

The guys at http://www.cityrock.co.za/ will help you out with all things abseiling.

As you seem like a bit of an adventure nut, I would highly recommend doing a day's kite surfing lesson in Tableview (15 minutes for CT) www.windfever.co.za
