I'm planning to buy a car in South Africa and drive up to Kenya, starting ~august 2008. How do I solve the problem of importing a car to ex Kenya?
I guess I need a carnet. But can I, as a non SA citizen, get a SA carnet? Is it possible to have a carnet registered in a foreign country on a SA car? How much will I have to pay in deposit? What happened if I sell the car despite the carnet? What if I sell the car to a traveller who drives it back to SA? /Carnets is a jungle/  |
