My wife and I are thinking about taking the 50 day overland trip advertised on this website. We would appreciate any and all feedback you candn give us - specifically has anyone here taken that trip or something like it

I'm 51 and my wife is 57 but we are both very adventuresome - she's doen horseback riding trips in Iceland and Mongolia and I've done trekking in Nepal nad Chile, whitewater rafting in Turkey and conoeing in the Yukon

We will be taking this trip as a precursor to taking an RTW trip when we retire in 10 years - hope to include long sea journeys, Australian camel treks and expedition style treks thru the Himalayan region into our trip as well as maybe 6 month based jn Italy or Spain

You didn't mention which trip (start/end points) or which company. I went with African Routes from Cape Town to Cairo I think it was about 80 days. I'd recommend the company to you but they have an age limit 18-35, but they made an exception for me, I was 38. If you mention the company I'll tell you what I know about it. We saw quite a few other companies during our trip., And spoke with the people using them for comparison to our own.
