I'm still researching the different types of tours that's out there- it's such a pain having to pay single supplement's fees - I've been doing ALOT of readings/web searches and trying to keep my cost down to $1500USD comfortably -whatabout yourself? when/where are you traveling within Tanzania?

If you want more details in terms of different types of tours I have searched please email me directly at tetany@hotmail.com -I'm looking to go on a mix of walking/driving safari that also includes cultural interactions with the local tribes. Also, outside the tour -I'm hoping to visit MtoWaMbu community and hike the Usambara Moutains and the olduvai gorge during my visit.

I traveled with an overlabd company called Bukima. We basically went from safri spot to safari spot. They were amazing, very affordable, and I woule highly recommend them. Check them out. I think they can be pretty good about accomodating your own schedule within one of their trips.

Hello, interested in getting more information about Bukima overland truck travel in Africa. My husband and I are seasoned travelers in our mid 50's...do you think Bukima would be a good match? Thanks. RMJ |

Though you just a very little time before you get on board i would like to recommend to you, last year i ve been to Tanzania parks, mountains and Coastal towns of Kenya, it was great safari i ve never experienced in my life time together with my girlfriend! just a friend of mine who has been there before me he links me to a very friendly and kindly guy, who acts as an independent guide and safari organizer, his name is arnold (arnoldndesa@yahoo.com),the guy organize for me a tremendous safari via www.go2safari.com, which is its owned by a family! arnold helps us to fix everything in our budget safari within the company! any body interested keep in touch with him or direct to company but dont forget to tell them about arnold ( a friend of venance.v.chuwa,company owners). check out detour africa and nomad tours
What I did was first look on nomad tours to see what trips they offered and booked my trip through southern africa with detour as they gave a discount on the nomad trips... My cousin went through nomad last year and he loved them...he had heard bad stories about others...detour and nomad are both south african companies located both I think in Capetown. I know that detour is in capetown for sure Josh is off to Europe soon, but in the meantime read about his past trips around the world I'm 24, why isn't 100 countries and 7 continents realistic in a lifetime...40 and 5 down... |

The best way to keep costs down is just to go to Tanzania and arrange a safari once you're there. Just go to Arusha, where most leave from, and it's pretty easy to tag onto a group already going out.

Maybe it's nicer to do some safari with local people/very small organisation that you can to help make a living, see www.12visitme.com :-)
