Hello everybody,

I’m going to visit Israel in December.
I’d like to make during stay in Israel (Jerusalem) short trips (2-3 days) to Egypt to pyramids
I’ll be obliged if somebody tell me how can I do this the best way. If you know any good travel firma or something like this, tell me please.
Can I manage for 2 – 3 days to get Egipt, to look around (pyramids) and back?
What is with traveling on Friday and Saturday in Israel?
What is about the visa to Egipt?

I have done that trip flying from Tel Aviv to Cairo and then returning by land through the Taba/eilat border. I highly recommend it, but 2-3 days is short. Round trip tickets from Tel Aviv to Cairo are pretty cheap, around 200USD 4 years ago. For that short a time you might want to book a hostel or hotel in advance, and most places can arrange a driver to take you to Giza (pyramids) and Memphis which can be done in one day (I spent 20USD for a driver for the whole day!). Then you can spend a day going to the Cairo museum and the Bazaar. You can get around on Friday and Saturday in Israel, in fact, it can be easier because there is less traffic, but many things are closed so check ahead. When I went I got my Visa upon landing in Cairo with no problem, It might help to have a few US one dollar bills for a taxi from the airport if there isn't an ATM in the airport. I don't know any travel firms I found it was easy to just hire a taxi for the day with a flat rate.
