Sells "travel" by the gram |
Don't know but I'm going to both in July!
India, UAE, Africa next, follow me! I'm 24, why isn't 100 countries and 7 continents realistic in a lifetime...33 and 4 down...39 or 40 and 5 by end of year |

depends on what experience you're after. To me Kruger has been developed to the point that it's basically a big open Zoo with no cages - very tourist oriented and now, very artificial.
Etosha on the other hand is probably a true definition of a safari should be like. Granted in Kruger, you are almost guaranteed sightings of Big Five, while in Etosha, it's pure luck. Personally, i would prefer Etosha over Kruger any time cheers Jeelan "Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming -- WOW--What a Ride!" |

I have never been to Kruger but I would say most likely you'll see more there. You have to have a guide and all the guides talk on walkie talkies so they all rush over to wherever they here the lion is, etc.
I have been to Etosha during Christmas a few years ago and loved it! We basically rented a car and drove ourselves through. 3 days, 2 nights and you stop at each of the 3 fort/hotel at night for sleeping. Just an fyi-- the food sucks at the fort/hotels-- lots of mytery meat. We saw a lion, elephants, giraffes, rhinos, hippos, etc. but no cheetah and whatever else are in the big 5. Since you go it on your own there is no walkie talkie to tell you where the animals are. There's a book that people log stuff in at each hotel but obviously you'll only see that in the morning before you head out. I think I ended up seeing more when I went on a day trip to a safari outside of J'burg- can't remember the name of the park now but we saw a lot for just a few hours. However, I wouldn't trade my Etosha experience for the world. Namibia is my favorite country! |

I prefer Kruger for the variation n scenery
.....and you will prolly see more of the big 5 but Etosha is beautiful and almost mystical, in a way to me plenty of giraffe, zebra, impala, wildebeeste and hopefully the big 5 too tell you what: go to BOTH! |
