Just wondered if anyone has seen this tv series? It is showing on tv in Britain at the moment. Ewan McGregory and his friend ride motorcycles across Africa all the way to Cape town. I am really enjoying it, they ride through some amazing scenery.

Got the book for Neil for Christmas, and we are now watching the series. I find parts of it a bit whiney, where they are complaining about all the rushing, but someone had to have set the schedule...
it is a really interesting show - I like that they are exploring some of the history and culture, like staying with a tribe in Kenya (talk about some good timing - a few months later, and they may have had issues!). I'm also really impressed with the videography - those cameraguys are really good!

I'm definitely learning some things about Africa, and since I know so little about it to begin with, it's challenging those lame perceptions that I've gained primarily through popular media.

I'm looking forward to Long Way Down II - tip of Alaska to Patagonia! (don't know that they've even mentioned it, but I think it'd be great)

It's a good show. Enjoy it very much.

Think I like Long Way Round better though. Especially the Extended version. Charlies Race to Dakar is equally good if you like motorbikes.
