I'm trying to find a relatively fast and economical way to get from Kasane to Maun. Does anyone have any experience with this?

At this point we are planning to rent a car and drive via Nata. If there is a budget safari operator that can do a one-day or overnight drive to Maun, that would be ideal (assuming it won't break the bank). Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

many thanks!

Hi Acarrico,

i have travelled extensively in Botswana and if you are wanting to get to Maun from Kasane then going via Nata is probably the best way. the roads are good and very safe, so safe in fact that you could hitch your way there. the roads are good and the people are very friendly.

cheers

Thanks for your help. I assume they are good enough that we wouldn't need a four-wheel drive vehicle on any stretch of the trip? Any idea how difficult it would be to hitch a ride throughout this area with four people in our group?

thanks again.
