Tanzania to South Africa overland is pretty easy to do on your own. My route was: Tanania -> Malawi -> Zambia -> Zimbabwe -> Botswana -> South Africa.
The only place I might be concerned about going through would be Zimbabwe, but there are plenty of other options for getting to South Afica that avoid Zimbabwe. I had a wonderful time in Africa -- check out my blog for my details. Jillian |

Do you want to see Africa or experience Africa?
A big thing to figure out. If no. 1 then overland it from Tanzania to SA. If you want to experience your piece of the continent, then do it on your own. ____________________________ "Of the gladdest moments in human life, is the departure upon a distant journey into unknown lands. Shaking off with one mighty effort the fetters of Habit, the leaden weight of Routine, the cloak of many Cares and the slavery of Home, one feels once more happy. The blood flows with the fast circulation of childhood . . . A journey, in fact, appeals to Imagination, to Memory, to Hope, the three sister Graces of our moral being." - Captain Sir Richard Francis Burton |
