I hope to travel from Rwanda to Nairobi in August. With time being short, I know I can fly, but it's quite expensive. I'm wondering if the bus (Kigali-Kampala-Nairobi) offers other significant advantages besides saving money; in particular, interesting scenery and whether a day or two in Kampala would also be a plus.
Also, if I want to fly, is there a need to reserve well in advance (only $25 penalty to change or cancel) or it usually possible to get a flight, Kigali-Nairobi, on short notice.
