I'll be in Botswana this July and will have 6 or 7 full days to explore Chobe, Moremi and the surrounding areas. The overnight safaris are a bit out of our price range, so we opted to stay outside of the park and take day trips around the area.
My question is, given our time and budget constraints, would you recommend taking the time to visit the salt pans at Makgadikgadi? If so, how would you suggest doing this (where, guided tours, self-drives, etc.). We will likely have a vehicle to get there (driving from Kasane to Maun via Nata), but it probably won't be a 4x4. Any advice or experiences you have would be appreciated. thanks in advance, Amanda |
