Hey all,
Just finished up my study abroad application for Morocco. Very excited. The school I'm going to is located in Ifrane. I see a lot of Morocco discussions on here, but never much about the mountain region... the study abroad package includes excursions to Fez, etc., but I was just wondering if anyone here has spent time in or around Ifrane and, if so, are there any "can't miss" places or activities I should seek out? Also, is there an abundance of affordable hot air balloon tours in Morocco, or have I been playing Indiana Jones computer games too much? ----- "You can't help respecting anybody who can spell TUESDAY, even if he doesn't spell it right; but spelling isn't everything. Ifrane is beautiful! I was only there a couple hours so I can't say much, but it's this really cute, quaint little town. Reminded me a LOT of a Swiss ski village. I do recall that there was a university there, a private one not a public one. I assume that's the one you're going to. Anyway, again, I didn't spend much time there - mostly just sitting in a little coffee shop admiring the view - but it struck me as a very European town, and pretty clean and well-to-do by Moroccan standards. Only the wealthier Moroccans can afford to send their kids to the private university, so I think the town reflects that. Sorry I can't be of more help.
