My favorites are: Tanzania, Egypt and Morocco.

Of course, they are very easy ones to visit and get around in. I was in Africa for 5-1/2 months camping and those three were like vacation spots compared to the rest of the trip. Does liking them best make me a slacker?

My next 3 would be Nigeria, Central African Republic, and Burundi. They're a little more off-beat.

Wish I could rate the countries in the south but I've never been further south than the Congo. I hear very good things about those countries too. Oh well, time for another trip to the continent...

Rwanda
Morocco
Ethiopia

I spent the most time in Morocco and Ethiopia and the week in Rwanda was one of the most amazing experiences in any country.

I'm putting Egypt and Tanzania up there. I'm leaving my third slot open as there are still several I haven't been to so I want to reserve judgment.

1) Union of Tanzania (I have to emphasize Zanzibar here)
2) Namibia
3) Egypt (it doesn't feel "African" but geographically it is still an African country)
