Hi
I have heard about shark cage diving....but now it seems like you can also get a close to crocs in a cage! This can be done in this place in South Africa: http://www.cango.co.za/index.htm . I like a bit of excitement but I'm not sure I would have been up to this: Regards Gard http://gardkarlsen.com - trip reports and pictures |

I'm heading to South Africa this summer, and was thinking about doing the croc dive. Has anyone done it?
It's quite a bit cheaper than a Great White dive, though I'm sort of torn between the two. If anyone's done either, or both, I'd like to hear your thoughts. |

I wouldn't do the shark cage. Feeding wild animals makes them associate us with food. It makes the ocean more dangerous for everyone not inside the cage. Same reason you don't feed bears in the forest. Next time I'm scuba diving I don't want Jaws coming over looking for snacks.

It'd be an interesting experience regardless, but you're kind of taking the same risk as bungee jumping really - you never know if you'll be alive at the end of it!
