Hello,
In case you follow up your topic, I'll be in Oruro for the Carnival.
I'm looking for accommodation and want to book well in advance, just to be sure.
Can you suggest some place, preferably a hostel with private rooms, or a small hotel.
Thanks

Hello!

Sorry for my delayed answer! Anyway, here it goes. Let me tell you that hotels cost the double those days so be prepared. However, there are people who rents rooms at their homes too, so maybe you can look for something like that in Internet. Another detail, you have to purchase the tickes for the parade too! Don´t forget that so if you arrive earlier, good. I suggest you to go since the Anata parade, which is beautiful and free.

Some suggestios for hotels:

Brochitas,
I sent a message to Hidalgo hostal and Grand Hotel, and got an automatic answer, with the instructions how to make a reservation. I followed their instructions but got no answer yet.
As I'm going away for a week this weekend, I'd like to make that booking bofore I leave. Could you please help with Spanish translation, which I'd send again. Thanks a lot.

If you're willing to help - it's Spanish.
This is the answer I got from another hotel. To me it looks expensive. What do you think?

Hi there,
I only speak a little bit of Spanish (very little...) but since no one answered you, here's what I got from the hotel answer:

Single rooms have already been reserved and all they can offer you is a double for 270$US,available from Friday 1st till Sunday 3rd. You shall leave the room on Monday 4th.
On the 30TH, something is up with the double room (I'm not sure what...) but they can offer the single for 19.5$US.

All rooms come with t.v., phone, carpet (I think...)private bathroom, soap & shampoo etc., and breakfast.

Then, they give you directions and let you know that it's close to the carnaval.

Hope this helps! Smile

Hello!

Sorry for my delayed answer! I was off the office for my vacation. The prices are expensive but the hotels in general duplicate prices those days. Another option is to go directly and to look for cheaper options; there are cheap places (not very nice). Of course, it is a little risky but if you arrive anticipated, around january 30, you can get a place with no much troubles. Besides, the 31 is the Anata and you can not miss it!!

I hope I could have helped you!

Other questions?

Wink
