Hello all,

I am living in Buenos Aires right now and my boyfriend is coming to visit me in two weeks. I am trying to plan some fun things for us to do but I haven't really done the traveler thing since I've been here so I have some questions:

1. Are there any good places that host regular wine tastings that arent too expensive? I know in Palermo there is Juan Alberdi that has wine tastings twice a week, but it costs 50 pesos per person which is a bit too pricey for me - we are both young budget travelers.

2. Tango - he wants to see some Tango and I know where we can find some shows, but can anyone recommend a good milonga where we can just sit in a corner with a drink and watch without feeling uncomfortable for not dancing? In terms of Tango style, I really like Gotan Project and nuevo tango style but am totally happy to watch some more traditional also.

3. Live Music - are there any low-key bars that have live music, jazz or acoustic rock or instrumental, especially during the week?

4. Any good things to do during the day that you feel can't be missed in BA, especially inside to escape the heat - museums, exhibitions, has anyone been to the planetarium, and hows the zoo?

Some information about us to give you an idea of what we're into: 22 and 23 years old, from the US, looking for fun but not crazy things to do, definitely on a budget. I'm very literate in getting around the city, so buses and transprtation to odd places isnt a problem. We enjoy places where we can sit at a table and drink some wine listening to some good music.

Please let me know. Thanks!

While you won't be sipping cocktails during the performance, the Borges Cultural Center in El Centro has several "local" (not the super-touristy $70 a plate kind) tango performances (best seats were 35 pesos) and free local art exhibitions. Yes, I said "free". That facility I imagine is air-conditioned and has a little coffee shop at ground level.
