Hey
I'm new here, so bear with me if I am repating a previous thread, but here's my situation I am planning to go to Argen. alone and I was here (the site) for two reasons. Firstly, I was wanting any advice or warnings, any dangers particularly for the L.F.T. Secondly, I wantedto make contact with any other female travellers and possibly meet up, and travel together. My situation, is that I am just out of Uni slighly later then my friends, whom have now settled with jobs, flats, kids(!) and hence dont have the cash, or time to come along Any feedback gratefully received Tah Clare |

My first solo travel trip was Brazil and onto Argentina (and then the rest of SA!) and I didn't feel afraid or threatened at any single point of the journey. The Argies were the most helpful and friendly of all the SA countries.
If you are planning to stay in hostels then you are unlikely to be travelling alone for more than a day at a time as you are constantly meeting other solo travellers or tagging onto other groups of travellers who happen to be heading the same direction as you. You will also bump into the familiar faces as you go along if you are visiting all the usual places. Whilst some people hate this, for a LFT it is really great. Enjoy, I have been many places before and since but Argentina is still my all time favourite!! |

When are you going? I'm also a lone female traveler (19 years old) and I'll be in Argentina starting this coming Sunday, May 4.

Hi Clare,
In January, I traveled all around Argentina as a lone female traveler and had no problems. People were really nice and helpful, and I was rarely alone when I didn't want to be. The men can be a little feisty (and persistent!) but all in all, it's just part of the experience. One thing to watch out for though is scams. I met a lady who was robbed off all her worldly possessions (the valuable ones, not the dirty clothes) early on in her solo trip. There was a group of women working together who made a distraction and made off with her daypack (passport, credit cards, everything). So just keep a good eye (and grip) on your stuff and you should be fine. Where are you planning on going? ------------------------------------------ "He who jumps into the void owes no explanation to those who stand and watch." -Jean Luc Godard |

Hey girl!
I have traveled to many countries alone and it has always been fun. I have never been to South America and would really like to go with someone this time. Probably we will make a lot of new friends Thanks, R |
