Three weeks + four 19 year old girls

I'm beginning to plan a trip to Argentina and Chile between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I went to Europe with friends for a month last summer but am overwhelmed by the size of these countries. We are interested in everything...the outdoors, cities, small towns...

So...ideas? What can we not miss? Routes? Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

three weeks - Does your budget allow for intra-continental flights?

Probably the biggest don't miss is Igauzu Falls...fairly easily accessible from BsAs.

Some other highlights are Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego...Seven Lakes, Salta....

Those few things alone could easily consume three weeks

Thanks. What is the best way to get to the falls from Buenos Aries especially if what we want to see after is further South?
What small towns would you suggest visiting?
