Armchair Traveler |
Interesting article in the 6/4/08 Washington Post about political/economic conditions in Argentina. The lede:
Was wondering if travelers in Argentina have noticed a change in conditions or a "fear of crisis." Full WP article is at: http://tinyurl.com/6orntn |

I experienced the striking farmer aspect of it, though not the furious changing of dollars. Farming strikes though aggressive are timely: 6a to 6p and then they go home. In other countries (for example, Venezuela), disgruntled locals strike 'til their requests are met. Overall, this means no buses, cars, bikes, or tourists pass through the area and you wait it out.

Lost in Place |
Doesn't sound as bad as the constant bolivian roadblock culture. Snagged me twice in two weeks.
