Hi all.

I'll be starting my RTW March the 8th, and the first country will be Argentina.

I did not want to prepare it a lot, but, well, as far as it the first step, I thought having a kind of program and try to respect it as far as possible could be a good idea.

so my program is: Arrival at BsAs Thursday 9 in the morning.
10,11,12,13: Buenos Aires and heading by a night bus to Trelew.
14,15: Trelew (daytrip to Peninsula Valdes)
16: Trelew-Rio Gallegos-El Calafate
17,18: El Calafate
19: El Calafate-Puerto Natales then Torres del Paine (is this faisable or it's better to spend the night in Puerto Natales? )
20,21,22,23,24: the W in TDP. and leaving after midday towards Puerto Natales, then El Calafate
25: el Calafate - El Chalten
26,27: El Chalten and bus it to El Bolson (is this possible? or should i stop somewhere, I heard about a stop in Perito moreno -the village-, I would like to avoid stepping back via Rio Gallegos )
28,29,30: el bolson and then making it to Bariloche
Mar 31, April 01, 02,03,04: El Bariloche and then Mendoza (on April 04th at the evening)
05, 06, 07: Mendoza then Salta (on April 07th at the evening)
08, 09, 10, 11,12: Salta/jujuy and heading north to Bolivia April 12th via Quiaca

I'm planning to bus it all the way (unless I can find an affordable plane ticket ). Also, I would like to get to Bolivia not after April 15th (to remain 3 weeks there before spending 2 more weeks in Perou, i'll send a post on this later ! )
I know that this post is a little bit long, but can you please tell me what do you think about it? feasible? am I too much time somewhere? not enough? am i missing something?

Thank you very much for your help.

This all sounds incredibly doable & like a very tight schedule, which makes me think that I would leave a little room for spontanaeity, if I were you...

You might want to check out the Perito Moreno Glacier - I promise you, it's worth it. Or are you planning to go to that?

I think you can go straight to Torres del Paine from El Calafate - check the Footprint Guide to SA. THey're sure to provide more detail.

I'm not sure if a bus goes straight from El Chalten to El Bolson - it might go back via El Calafate. Check on this one - I don't remember - but you should be able to go direct from El Calafate to El Bolson.

Let me know about Bolivia - it's one of my favorite places & it is amazing. La Quiaca is a hole - don't plan on staying...

Hi Kwon,

thx for the comment !

Concerning the Perito Moreno, yeap, i've planned to do it ! that's why i'm spending two days at El Calafate ( maybe the 3 glacier trip, maybe a day trip to upsla ...)

I'll double check the LP concerning the TDP - El Calafate leg and the El Chalten - El Bolson !

Concerning the spontaneity, I agree with you, but man, I'm so excited with my RTW trip, you know, there's a lot of thing to see, places to visit, and as far as I'm travelling solo, I thought that progaming the first days, will help me get, like , more confident ! I don't care staying more or less in a given place, but I've just wanted to have kinda road trip !

About, La Quiaca, it's just a matter of crossing the border !

You have to factor in the weather and not being able to get a bus ticket or plane ticket as part of your journey in argentina. I have had delays in ushuai, el calafate.

here are some tips about argentina.

True - ripio roads must wash out a good deal and I imagine the wind shear off the pampas must really affect air travel. I didn't have any issues, but I did get my rental car stuck in a river or two.
