Hey all, I am excited to see so many posts about Ecuador. I am going to be down there during August, will anyone else be there then? Also, I really want to work on an organic farm down there, has anyone had any expereience with one there? I heard of Rio Muchacho but I am not sure what it would be like. Any thoughts would be awesome.

Hey biver56! Thats awesome that you will be down there too! I am planning on helping out on the farm for a little bit, but then I hope to travel around and check out the area. I will be there from around the 10th of august till about the end of the month. How about you? Why are you going down, just for fun and where? I def want to learn more about where to go and what areas I should definately check out. Exciting! Have you ever been before?

Sierra Hunt! Do you think you will still be down south until August! What are you up to, just having fun or are you helping to save the world? What are your plans?

Hey everyone,

I was in Ecuador just two months ago for two weeks at the end of a seven week trip to south america. It was excellent and I will definitely be going back there! I would recommend Banos and Cuenca as places to visit...Banos is a very friendly town and you can do a wide range of activities there such as white water rafting, abseiling down waterfalls, horseriding etc. whilst Cuenca is a beautiful colonial town.

I think the Otavalo markets are overrated as you can buy most of the things they sell there all over Ecuador.

Quito was ok...great nightlife in the gringo area and the Equator monument is definitely worth a visit...make sure you visit the museum which is slightly to the right of the monument where the real equator line is and you can do all the equator experiments.

I have put my pictures of Ecuador at the following address if anybody would like to take a look: http://nicolasbigadventures.myphotoalbum.com

Hey GreenChild ! I will be in Ecuador August 7 thru Sept 10th. I am going to visit friends in Otavalo for a week, check out the Mindo rainforest for a few days, take in some Quito culture, hit the Papallacta hot springs, then shoot over to the beach in Manta, working my way down to Montanita. The last week I'll be back in Otavalo to party in all the Yamor festivities.

Here's a great site for finding volunteer work in Ecuador:

Enjoy Ecuador!

Halooo...

I´ve been livng in Ecuador for three months now and I love it! I would stronly suggest Quito, it´s a cool city. Also, the orient has a cool vibe. Tena is fairly safe in the orient and they also have water rafting and hiking...things of that sort.

Have a great time!
