For people travelling by public transportation from Cajamarca to Chachapoyas:
Recently the Empresa Virgen del Carmen started to offer buses from Celendín to Chachapoyas three times a week: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Usually they leave around 9:30 am.
The other way around (Chachapoyas - Celendín) the buses leave on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, usually very early in the morning.
Sometimes the timeschedule changes from one moment to another, but the owner promised me it will stay like this for quite a while (don't blame me if he doesn't keep his promise!). They also have a telephonenumber now: 076-555238.

The rainy season is almost over, the road isn't very good, and it will take some years before they improve it, but it's not so bad either. The views are spectaculair.

Enjoy your trip!
