Im happy to do whatever it takes to get the money! Our trip is being filmed by MTV and BBC it will be aired all over the world. We have some famous muscians involved and heaps of other cool stuff that would get some great publicity. outside Magazine is a sponsor, north face, MTV, Oakley, etc etc I need someone to sponsor me to help me climb the mountain and help them look good. That's awesome Jolene! I ran a marathon for the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society about 1.5 yrs ago and it was by far the most awesome thing i have ever done. I had a hard time raising money and corporate donations really helped! Basically ask everyone you know including your employer. Do some searches on line and see if you can find any companies that are invloved w/ your cause or something similar and then call them. The other way i made a lot of $$ was by buying mardi gras beads in bulk and selling them at the football stadium in San Diego. YOu can go in, pay to park and act like you are going to just tailgate then wear a massive ton of your beads and walk around and tell people they are just a donation for anything they want to give. Helps if you wear something that has the logo of the cancer society you are doing this for. Other than that it helps to dress kind of revealing. I hate to say it but my 20 yr old friend who just had a tight tank top on and jeans made like $500 in one day doing that. Lots of dudes and booze and some people won't give you anything - other people will give you a ton, especially if their family has been affected. Stay away from the cops and if they yell at you just tell them you heard it was ok from other people you are doing this with for fundraising. Make sure they know it's not for profit then tell them you will leave and just find another area. Works best if you can go in teams. Good luck - if I wasn't hurting so bad w/ work right now I would donate myself! Do you have an account on active.com? that's an easy place for people to make donations!
