I just tried to use the international airfare page to get a price on LAX-GUA-SJO-LAX and it couldn't help me. Any suggestions?

Since this is a trip to Central America, you have two options: First, you can use this link -
RTW - to figure out approximate pricing. However, if you want to get a quote, we have a special number of our Latin America multi-stop trips. The number is 877-768-1311. (This number is ONLY for Latin America trips and NOTHING else).

Thanks Donovan. I was using the trip planner. That was what told me that it couldn't help, or words to that effect. I'll have to use the phone I guess. I try to do everything online to be discreet while at work.

What are the hours of operation for the phone people?

Perhaps this is a silly question, but on the Rec.Travel.LatinAmerica newsgroup, some person in Peru supposedly had her ticketless travel voucher not accepted by the airline. Does BnA issue regular tickets, or is it ticketless travel? If the latter, what are the chances someone on the ground in, say, South America wouldn't acknowledge it as valid?

The ticket I got from BnA is ticketless, and I think that's how most tickets are issued nowadays (by us and by others). The only time I've had an actual ticket recently was when I used frequent flyer miles.

As to whether or not it'll be accepted as valid, that's a good question - it should be, obviously, because it is!! I'll see if I can find anyone with helpful tips on what to do just in case, and maybe someone else around here will have some ideas, too.

Hi Donovan - could you talk a little about added taxes and fuel surcharges? I just added an entry link to Paris Logue for flights to Paris and found that the listed discount prices are amazingly disproportionate to the charges for airport taxes and fuel surcharges. What is the 'norm' for taxes and surcharges? (on a percentage basis of sticker price)

Parisgirl,

I wish there was a formula to figure this out. Each airline does it differently.

I would say when searching - make sure you check to see what those (taxes and fuel) b4 you decide on which ticket suits you best.

Happy Holidays Smile

Just a little plug for the two cheap ticket sites Donovan mentions in the original post... I've added both to Bloglines so I can keep up with all the good deals Bob's been posting. For instance, right now there's a crazy good deal to Amsterdam (with a funny picture, too); if you go to this page and click on the link that says "Subscribe to Deals RSS", you can get the notices delivered to you so you won't miss out on them. Just FYI. Smile
