There's a poor Canadian guy down south of the border in dire staits because his insurance cover was voided because of alcohol influence which I suspect would be pretty much standard practice.

A less obvious possible voiding activity is overstaying country or region legally allowed period.
This particularly now so for the EU and Switzerland based on the Schengen convention, ie A United Staes, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand or Japanese and few other countries citizens can visit the EU/Switzerland for a period of 90 days legally and then legal requirement is to exit there for 90 days before returning or mix it up within the 180 day period and then start another 180 day period.

Any advice on whether an Insurance cover could be voided by somebody overstaying as many apparently do and thus legallt be considered to have an illegal presence.

Nope, bit further south and not in a good way, but they do say alcohol can make for amazing survivals - his body pretty relaxed I imagine but not so much now!

Does anyone have suggestions for good companies that offer good additional "adventure sports coverage"? (i.e. where you pay an extra 20% so you're covered under activities like skydiving that normally you're excluded from)
