I started my blog before my departure. Now I'm leaving in just 11 days (yes!), and I'd like to reorganize my posts. They're all under the category "Travel," and I'd like to move them into a category called "Preparations" for all the existing 14 posts, and a new category called "Portugal" for when I get there, and another, "Galicia" for when I get there. How can I put the existing posts into a new category and then add new posts into another new category?

I've got an old blog and this may be easier or more difficult with the new designs, but: an easy way to do this with just 14 entries is to 'edit entry', then change the category to what you want it to be (simply scroll down, 'add new category' where necessary), then save and it should show up in the desired category. BTW, you can also have secondary categories. Click next to the field where it says 'assign multiple categories'. This is particularly useful say when you attend a cookery course and want to write about the experience, but also want the entry to appear in your 'recipes' section.

No sweat

Another solution, for the newer travel blogs at least, would be to simply re-name the 'Travel' category to whatever you want, then add more categories as you need them. You can also create a new one called Travel if you want to keep that one around.

Note, however, that the 'Travel' category is the default one, so if you don't specify a different category, your entry will be placed in this one automatically. If you change the name of the 'Travel' category, this will become your new default.
