Can anyone recommend a good journal program? I don't want to put averything into my blog. But I need a good way of organizing my thoughts.

The only one I know of is Live Journal, but I've never used it so I'm not sure it's exactly what you're looking for.

I guess what I had in mind was something that would run on my laptop rather than an online service. I would back-up the file on a USB drive.

Ooops, silly me. I forgot that I was using the journal part of Outlook, in this way, over a year ago.
