hello,

i'm leaving in a week and freakin out a bit. I need to blog my 3 month adventure where my technologically challenged family members and friends can follow along. i'm also inept at figuring out complicated things and frankly don't have time. I was also hoping to find a place where i can upload 3 months worth of pictures to show them and for back up purposes.

I've checked out a few places and so far i'm not too impressed or excited about anything...

any ideas where I can blog/keep pictures? I'm having issues finding a place where the blog is private and only my family can see it WITHOUT having them sign up for the site itself. maybe just a uRl i can send them?! I don't know..i'm going bananas..

I don't know about a blog that's totally 100% private; you might be better off sending mass emails to family members with links to Flickr pages for your photos (which you can mark "private" as a default - they might have to have a password to see them, but I don't believe they'd have to sign up for Flickr first).

Nope, they'd have to sign up for flickr to use that feature, and then be set up as either friends or family.

The internet is an inherently public space, and I'm not aware of anything that does what you're looking for, though you can generally depend on publically viewable stuff being lost in the sheer volume of information on the net, and only seen by people that you've sent the link to.
