Just wondering if anyone has suggestions for how I can publicize my blog a bit... I find it really hard to get more readers. All of the responses I've gotten have been very positive, but I don't really know how to expand beyond my circle of family, bootsnall readers, and people linking in from the candyblog. Thanks Smile

Stickers. Lots of stickers. Or magnets. These can be made cheaply and placed in random places that will create curiosity.

Good spots for things of this nature are in places where you have a captive and bored audience:

The bus
Telephone poles
The laundrymat
The community bulletin board in your favorite cafe

Etc.

Have you joined Digg.com?

Also helpful -- do you read the blogs of other people? Send them a note and tell them that you like their blog. Offer to link to their blog from your own. Ask if they would be willing to do the same for you.

Publicizing a blog is really just a lot of grunt work. In a nutshell, it is a function of links.

Your best bet is to join some blog networking sites like BlogCatalog, MyBlogLog and Entrecard and to work those sites for a few weeks.

You have a very particular niche, so I'd go and try to find blogs and sites about candy or some forums similar to those.

Personally, I think when you have a unique twist on a subject like you have, you have great potential for a book.
