We talked about the possibility of maybe meeting in Europe, on our various RTW trips with kids and I was wondering where you are now and where you see yourselves soon.
We are heading out to Africa ( Morocco) soon and then over to Italy on the way to Greece. We plan to be in Greece and Turkey for all of May and part ( or maybe all) of June. We will still be touring around Spain until late April. Does that jam at all with your plans now? We will be heading from Croatia to Prague after Greece and Turkey ( if that fits in better). Contact me here or privately if you think it is a possibility. If not just check in to say hi and how much you are enjoying your trips. We have loved wintering in Spain in our little village and will miss it, but ready for a major roam again. http://www.soultravelers3.com “I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it.” PABLO PICASSO |

Hi WT!
We're in Nepal right now and will be in India briefly before heading to Paris on April 22nd (any suggestions for accomodations?). We'll be bumming around France, Italy and Greece until the end of May when we head to Egypt. Does that still jive with your plans? Let me know if there's anywhere we can meet! |

COOL!
The BEST place for super cheap ( but book NOW) is the bois de bologne in Paris. It is a cammping site right on the Seine in a gorgeous park in Paris with easy to all transportation. We loved it and stayed there for two weeks...they have rentals. Here is the link on my blog about it and the start of our Paris stay ( helpful info). http://www.soultravelers3.com/blog/988D2CF9-F5C6-4D1E-8224-337BA952F9CE.html We are in Seville now and after Morocco , will head up to Barcelona and be there on April 22 for about a week. We will then head to Italy ( quite quickly this first time as we will spend the fall there) and onto Greece for May and then Turkey. Sounds like we might be able to connect in Italy or Greece. Keep in touch. I have not planned Greece yet. Do you have set plans? PM me or email me. http://www.soultravelers3.com “I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it.” PABLO PICASSO |

Hey, I found this late. We are in Turkey, leaving for Greece on the ferry tomorrow, then fly from Athens to Cairo on the 22nd. We'll be there 2 weeks, then back to Greece for at least a couple of weeks. Then probably Italy, but it might be Germany if a friend comes to join us for the first 2 weeks of July. It sounds like we're all in the Med right now. Maybe. . .

hey go girl,
We are in a fabulous luxury campsite in the Chianti hills near Florence ( which will be very hard to leave, but we will be back in the fall) making our way to venice and on to Athens via ferry. Kidsnall is sailing in Greece right now and I think is headed to Egpyt later in the month. We are going to try to hook up with them in Athens. We will be in Greece and Turkey when you are there, so contact me at soultravelers3@hotmail.com when you can to see if we can hook up. If not at least we are all enjoying the med at the same time which is kind of fun. http://www.soultravelers3.com “I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it.” PABLO PICASSO |

Hey, going back to Athens on June 5. I haven't been able to keep up with this b/c of stomach bug stuff, but will get on the net when I get there. Stephanie

Hey go girl, sorry to hear about the bug!! We had a great meet with kidnall in Athens just before they flew off to Cairo and the kids looooved each other.
We barely made it ,but it was worth it and fun to meet. We are now in the islands, Santorini at the moment and will be meeting another friend on Amorgas soon. We may stay in the islands longer than planned. Are you headed this way? We will eventually go up to delphi and meteora, but might even do Turkey via the islands. Still deciding. Let me know what your plan is. http://www.soultravelers3.com “I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it.” PABLO PICASSO |

Hey WT, INternet is harder than I thought here. We are in Piraeus today, and getting ready to head out to Delphi. Just got back from Santorini, and it was beautiful, but I liked Naxos better. We are renting a car today, and trying to sort out onward plans, which is proving more difficult than I anticipated, for various reasons. But, where are you now? I will make a huge effort to get back on today or tomorrow and see about you--it would be fun to meet. STeph

Hey gogirl I just uploaded our blog about our meet with kidsnall and we mentioned you:
http://www.soultravelers3.com/blog/ECC24FAD-FE96-451F-9369-A65D78F7D404.html I was worried that you might be sick. We are loving Santorini and are still here in a very peaceful spot. I am soooo sorry we missed you as it sounds like we were both here at the same time. Santorini is only good if you can escape the mad tourist crowds. We are heading off to Crete,Rhodes,Turkey,Samos, and Mykonos ( we have been to Naxos briefly but the peace of the caldera has our heart) momentarily before doing mainland Greece. ( We have switched our plans some as we are enjoying Greece...never made it to Amorgas because the ferry died in route and we had a small meet window). I am thinking you will no longer be in Greece by the time we hit the mainland. Our next stop will be Croatia after Greece. Maybe we will have another shot but sorry we missed you in Santorini!! Finding internet in Europe is sometimes a real pain. http://www.soultravelers3.com “I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it.” PABLO PICASSO |

Hey WT, All is not lost, as we plan to stay on the ML for about 2 weeks, then head to Italy. I know about the changing plans though, b/c we've changed ours just 3x today. It's crazy, and not exactly easier traveling in Europe than anywhere else. (No offense Europe--I just saw a news thing the other night that said the United states is the hardest place to travel. Sorry world.) Anyway, we just love Greece and want to see more of it. Turkey is great.
Oh, and yes I have been sick. I picked up some stomach bug in Egypt that kept me roombound for about 4 days--some kind of record, and still feeling kind of negative or something. Anyway, I love your blog--I even called my husband in and showed it to him. I'll spend more time reading when I get home, which is only in about 3-1/2 months! Happy travels--it sounds like things are going great. Stephanie "Those who dance are considered insane by those who can't hear the music." George Carlin |

Hope you get to 100% health asap...get some cipro or something if you need it. I have heard Egypt is one of those places many get sick like Morocco. We were super cautious in Morocco as I especially did not want Mozart to get sick as she is so skinny to begin with. You would not believe all the antibacterial wipes we went thru and food we passed up. Get better soon, it is such a bummer to not feel good...worse in a foreign country.
Lots of places in Europe ARE easy travel ( great trains and mass transit) but Greece is not one of them in our experience, altho we love it too. I don't think we will be back from Turkey in two weeks, let alone up to the mainland where we want to explore more. I will leave a message if I can when we leave Turkey and keep me posted when you leave Greece or where in Italy that you go.We might have to take a ferry to Italy to get to Croatia ( stil working on the best way for that). I can not believe that you and Kidsnall trips are coming to an end pretty soon as it feels like we have just begun. We have become so addicted to this free life of slow travel and world exploration on a whim that I can not concieve of EVER stopping. The longer we do it , the more we want to do it and the less we are motivated to end. Its the endless summer, permanent vacation mode, not knowing what day or time it is , family bonding and harmony, great people and places that makes it so delicious. Not that there aren't chalenges, it is just that it feels more like how life is suppose to be to us. Homeschool is even easier as we both do it and learn together in endless field trips. Who knows, maybe we will tire of it at some point, but so far our home away from home in Spain and pace nurtures our nesting and community needs. It does go by fast, I can hardly believe it has been over 10 months for us, but still 3 1/2 months is a goodly amount of time and you will have a ton of great adventures in that time. Also I think when you know you are going back, the psyche starts preparing for that. Last fall when we headed toward our village home in Spain we were ready for it, but now we have been on the road longer and will probably not be ready for Spain again until it is time to go back. Enjoy and carpe diem!! http://www.soultravelers3.com “I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it.” PABLO PICASSO |

Thanks for your will wishes WT--I'm doing about 88% today. I wanted to tell you that I took oil of oregano for my sickness rather than cipro, because it is a natural antibiotic, and it worked. I have also seen it draw the infection out of a man's thumb that had gotten badly infected--the infection was deep inside and he took it orally and put some on top of his thumb and it was better the next day, even though it had begun to get some streaks. So I'm swearing by this stuff. It is anti bacterial, anti fungal, and anti viral, which is better, b/c antibx tend to just kill the bacteria then you get out of balance. A good thing to know for your travels. Anyway, I'd say have fun, but you don't need my help for that!

Do get better gogirl!! THanks for the oil of oregano hint as I MUCH prefer natural cures and only take antibiotics if they are absolutely necessary ( which is almost never in our case and my daughter never had any until she had a tooth pulled at 5 for a badly absessed tooth that snuck up on us out of nowhere).
I am always glad to know natural cures. We have liked grapefruit seed oil extrct but have not been able to find it in europe so far. Lets keep in touch in case our paths can cross again! http://www.soultravelers3.com “I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it.” PABLO PICASSO |

We are in Rhodes now ( just left Crete) and soon on our way to our Turkey adventure. We are loooving the Greek Islands and glad we got to see these two...but yes it is HOT here too and I do not like heat unless I am in a pool or AC. At least it is not as humid as Italy was...we seem to be hitting lots of heat waves..or maybe it is global warming. Everyone says it is hotter than normal this year. http://www.soultravelers3.com “I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it.” PABLO PICASSO |

That's funny, we are freezing every where we're going--last Christmas in Oz, we thought we'd get our first hot Christmas ever--ha--I've had warmer ones at home!

Funny! Wow, Did you freeze in SE Asia too? I keep hearing how hot and muggy it is there which makes me cringe a bit. At least we have avoided muggy thus far this summer ( as it is not my favorite state of being). We are still in Greece ( about ready to head to Croatia) and have been here and in Turkey much later than we originally planned. We have run into some 100 plus days and I am very sensitive to heat, but surprisingly we have managed much better than I would have imagined. Shade, breezes, AC and staying out of the worst heat makes it quite easy really. So where are you now gogirl and where ya headed? We are making our way up to Prague and Krakow and then down again via Budapest and such to Italy and then Spain. Does it look like we will have any new connecting points? http://www.soultravelers3.com “I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it.” PABLO PICASSO |

Ah WT, now we're home. We were 11 months on the road, and have 4000 pix to show for it. We have the girls in school and life has settled into a very mundane pattern. And I want a croissant. A real one.

Hey go girl!! It is so nice to hear from you!! I miss hearing from you and kidsnall...feels kind of wierd to have you both home now.
Sounds like you had a fantastic trip. You will have to put the pics online somewhere so we can see them. We have been in Italy for a while now, our last stop before Spain for the winter. We are in the most luxurious country Inn of a friends in Umbria at the moment,( www.geniuslociumbria.com) that we met online. No french croissants here, but yummy food and a view to die for. ( Last night our campsite was closed in Siena when we arrived at dark, so we parked and slept in a nice parking lot, so do not think every night is as luxurious as this little splurge. It is wonderful to have a great internet connection here too, so I got to check this board and saw your message. We have changed so much in our 14 months of travel, I can not imagine being home now. How was the adjustment for you? Some people seem to have a harder time than others. I think I would be in severe culture shock in the U.S. now, but perhaps not. We are ready for our home in Spain though and our beautiful village and sweet friends. I was surprised that we bonded so deeply there after only 5 months. We are ready for a rest and "catch up" with things we can not do on the road. It is nice to have time to assimilate this trip before taking off on our next 7 month adventure. Sorry we did not get to connect....maybe next time. http://www.soultravelers3.com “I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it.” PABLO PICASSO |

Gogirl,
Here is an idea if you have time, blog about your experiences now and post the pics with your thoughts about it. I would love to read it and I am sure others would too. Just a thought. http://www.soultravelers3.com “I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it.” PABLO PICASSO |
