I'm posting this on behalf of a co-worker. She's looking to go to London with her 7 year old son next spring. I've been there before, so I'm helping her with stuff to see, etc. But I've always travelled alone, so I've been in all kinds of hostels.
She's open to a hostel/hotel with a private room. I was wondering if anyone out there knew of any non-party places that we decently priced. I thought of St Pancras hostel and the HI Hostel near St Pauls, but I can't think of anything else. Oh, BTW she will be going with her friend also, so there will be a total of 3 in the group. Thanks in advance! Also, if anyone out there has some great kid based activities that would be great. I would hate to have the poor kid spend half his life in museums. (I was that kid, museums are nice, but when you're seven you really can't appreciate Da Vinci as much as you can a pick up game of Tag) Joyce |

The HI hostel near St Pauls is OK, and they do have rooms for three. The bathrooms were pretty divey, last time I went.
The museums in London are very kid-friendly now - at the Museum of London, they've got a whole kid gig with handouts, mazes, etc. The British Museum has terrific, terrifying dinos that move and roar. And there's the Princess Di playground - that's a great playground, with a pirate ship and everything. |
