We've got the standard USA 2 week vacation this year to plan with a 1 yr old & 4 yr old. My husband and I went RTW before we had our children, so the all inclusive Disney trip that is the norm for most people we know with kids is not for us. We love different cultures & nature.

We are open minded but we do want to enjoy ourselves and not stress out too much dealing with our baby who will be toddling around. We are also pretty laid back travelers in general.

My first idea was Belize for ease of travel & communication and familiarity (we've been to Costa Rica & enjoyed it there so we have an idea of what to expect). Another idea was Nova Scotia. I also want to go back to Turkey with my kids.

While I usually opt for overseas, a trip in the USA is also not out of the question. I have yet to see much of NW & SW America.

The time of the year is flexible.
I know it is difficult to give this kind of advice to someone you dont know, but all advice is welcome. I'm sure something will light a spark in my mommy brain.

Orcas Island is very nice, as is the Okanagan Valley. Or how about Quebec City?

How about Santa Fe /Taos area? I would think a 4 year old would love the Indian and old Mexico things there ( learn things too) and it is quite beautiful both in nature and the city. So you could enjoy it too and plenty of places for a toddler to run and roam safely. I would avoid it and all places in high season.
