Hi all, thinking of doing a trek up Kilimanjaro and Safari with a company called Lasi tours anyone have dealings with them good or bad ?
When tipping guilds porters etc, is it better to pay them in Tanz shillings or US $( trying to keep minumin carrying to much US$ on me) Thanks |

Hi there,
I have done a lot of research on climbing Kili and have to say I haven't come across the name. Even the guidebook I have, which is supposed to be "the" definitive one makes no mention of them in the trekking agencies sections. Had a quick look at their web-site, which is pretty basic, but I'm sure you have done that already. Sorry I can't be of more help. Ciao Evil H |

I did a lot of research prior to the climb in Feb too - and didn't hear of them. There are just at on of companies out there. We chose to go with an independent guy that used to work for a big company but is venturing on his own (with his cousins). They were awesome and gave us personalized service:

I must say that I did use Lasi Tours and found them to be a great company who looked after me well, I highly recommend them. email Amani amanimlay@yahoo.co.uk if you want any info on Trekking or safari in fact anything to do with Africa, he's a great guy.
