Cheer up, chickie!

So what was the first thing you ate when you got home??? I had pho! Remember our talk about food and eating..lol! Ever get your 7 Up? Razz

I finally got my stuff on the way home in Nairobi (missing a pair of shoes, at least..haven't been thru the whole bag yet..doh!). Goes to show that you don't need much to climb a mountain, good friends go a long way. Thanks, Madhu, Mary, Tracy, Freesia, Alexa, Jen, Johnathan and Soyan for lending me clothing, bandanas, and iodine tabs, dollars in Zanzibar, and of course a huge thanks to the porters assistance project and Zamo for the clothing and poles as well. Enough of being sappy Wink

Rainier..hmm...um..wasn't I the one saying my mountaineering career is over? Razz

I had sushi. Yummy!!

I've been home for almost a week now and I'm still totally sad that the trip is over. I keep looking at my pictures over and over again... Despite my disappointment on Kili I still had an *amazing* time. We should all do it again soon! Wink

i still haven't gotten over my jetlag.. weird. and i've had a lot of dreams about TZ too. i guess i really do miss it there.

No dreams about elephants, but I've been eating non-stop ever since I got home. The first thing I had was a big chunk of venison loin (from a deer I shot this fall) mmmmmmmmmm-tasty! I've also been drinking lots of wine.

I did have dreams of the animals and also dreamt of the fog on the mountain.

Am a little absent minded since I landed yesterday. I was looking for my passport today ..took me a moment to notice that I don't need it anymore.

No more mountains for the time being. My knees still wobble!! I think I need to retire them for a long while.

I have XM satellite radio so to at least make it sound like I'm still in Tanzania, I've been listening to the African music channel. It's not the same - I know - but at least it's making the work day a bit more pleasant...

Am fine...2nd day at work. Not very inspiring to come back to shit load of things and a empty house. Miss all the company and people.

I bought a bunch of CD's from various African artists..listening to them while i go through 770 emails!

I bought a CD of those dudes from the first night of safari (the fire in the pants dudes). It is pretty good - I can burn copies of it if anyone wants. Send me your mailing address to teama2k@yahoo.com or cpb@barr.com

Ya, it sucks to be back at work.

I got non Hip Hop..sorry! I left my hip hop days way behind.

I got Salif Keita, Miriam Makeba ( not TZians but from other parts of Africa)Then I got some Arabic music compilations. Women singers from Arabia and then some "chill" music from Arabia ( still have not heard these CD's)

Nothing was open in Dar..so I got this music in Heathrow in the Virgin store.

I don't have CD buring on my laptop...if I get it (am very lazy with technology) I will burn these for you.
