Help required.

I have started to suffer from very serious prickly heat over the last few years. It is a extremelly ichy bright red rash all over my body and my arms become very puffy. This is so infuriatind as i love sitting in the sun and it turns up after being in ANY sun for over 1 day, I have tried all of the usual suggestions of, Cool showers, creams & ointments and Anti histamines(sorry about spelling)but none of this helps ease the iching
Can anyone reccomend a prevention method. (apart from staying out of the sun) a few pharmasists when i have been abroad have either said to get a cortizone injection or take iron tablets for 1 month prior to any sun but i dont know if these help.

Suggestions please

Calamine powder or lotions work reliably.

Beware: in Indonesia they tend to add camphour to lotions (ouch!) so read the label. I prefer powder as I reckon it's more soothing. Any local pharmacy will have it.

It doesn't really sound like prickly heat which would be localized to places on your body that sweat a lot or are chaffing. It sounds more like a sun sensitivity or maybe an allergy.

I would see your doctor at home about it. One thing to look at is have you been taking any new medications or using a new sun cream or lotion since it started? Sometimes people are allergic to certain sun screens, and several medications can cause temporary sun sensitivity.

This is prickly heat.

Excessive heat and humidity cause pores to get clogged with dead skin cells, bacteria, grime, etc. , preventing sweat from escaping. It's almost like your skin begins to rot.

Mmmmm, sign me up.

I get the same problem as well, in fact, it is ZYRTEC that I purchased from www.drugdelivery.ca which helped me to solve my rashes problems. Have you used any medications by the way> because only cream or dermatologically approved medications can helped you!! Good luck with it, and I hope that everything will be fine for you.
