Any advice on good travel insurance companies that offer extreme sports and adventure sports riders? I've noticed only a handful seem to.
Thanks |

Hi,
For our upcoming RTW, we bought our travel insurance from Multinational Underwriters. Their Atlas Series offers the opportunity to add an Extreme Sports rider to the insurance at a cost of 20%. When you sign up, they ask you for a list of all the sports you think you might be doing during your trip. If it's not on the list and you get injured then they don't cover you for it. You can call them at any time during your trip to have more added. I had the following list added to my policy: hiking, mountaineering under/over 4500 meters, hang gliding, sky diving, parachuting, bungee jumping, snorkeling, scuba diving, zorbing, mountain biking/cycling, motor scooter driving, spelunking, rappelling, rock climbing, jet skiing, wind surfing, kite boarding, surfing, skiing/snowboarding I will probably not do all of these but better safe than sorry. Also, please note the following exclusion which is really important: "The Accidental Death and Dismemberment benefit is deleted during the course of the activity." Hope this helps! Julie |
