I was wondering how everyone handles the issue of shaving etc during travels (especially women)...like is it usual for everyone to walk around with hairy legs?? haha, I have always wondered about this..

usually I bring a razor just like home but I been trying to get the nerve to make an appointment to get waxed (yow!) -- that would be nice not to worry about it for a while.

If it's somewhere cold tho, I let the leg hairs grow, hell, no one will know!

How long does a wax job last typically? And when should you get it done before a trip? Like a day or two in advance so the redness could go down?

it depends on how fast your hair usually grows..a wax usually lasts from 2-4 weeks..maybe more if you have very fine, sparse hair..

1 day before is enough time for the redness to go down

The only additional thing to keep in mind is that sometimes waxing can lead to ingrown hairs, so if you get it done right before you leave be sure to keep an eye out for ingrowns - and exfoliate every couple days if you can to help prevent them. (Heck, if you're going to a beach, even sand would help in that department!)

I shave about as much as I do at home (how much depends on time of year). I use the Intuition Razor, which has a shaving gel or something built onto the razor so I don't have to bring shaving cream, etc. I have used this for a few years (also good for the gym), and love it.
