Ok, no other way to put it. How do you guys prevent stomach aches and frequent rushes to the bathroom? I tend to go more frequent than I think is normal and i'm sure it is partly due to my junk food diet.

Any tips/advice when traveling (especially in a non-western region) to prevent this?

Obviously the water I know about to becareful with it but i'm talking about with food and nerves etc. etc.

Immodium...when times are bad. It's saved me!

And if you're shitting your brains out so much that you seriously feel like you are going to die...Levaquin (I've never been that bad, so I've never had to use it, but carry it just in case).

Well that was blunt, Miss Marisa. Razz At least Joey might have phrased it...."poopying your brains out". Anyway...Joey, a lot of people swear by acidopholous (sp?) as an easy preventitive measure. It's not gonna stop a disaster, but the active cultures in yogurt provide a first line of defense against any foreign poopy-causers you might inject via food, etc. in foreign countries. Same old, same old...everyone says start a week or two beforehand to get them established....keep eating yogurt daily during your trip....and for a week or so afterward. If you hate yogurt, you can pick up acidopholous pill supplements at any pharmacy.

Happy pooping.

(And yes....I always bring immodium, too, in case I come down with what's commonly referred to on at least three continents as "The Holy Marisa".)

Note:

If its a bacterial/viral reason for the flush, its your bodies way of protecting its self. If it cant work through your guts into the blood stream, it stays as a rush to the bathroom. If you "clog" up the system, then you give whatever it is time to turn into something that you really dont want.

Just a caution! Big Grin

For everything theres a reason...

Thats when you "Camp on the crapper" Commendear the comode... Set up your office and or reading room... and cancel all appointments!

Food poisoning is no fun, but the alternative of getting all the nasties that get it kicked off working "ON" you instead of through you is much worse!

Ahhhhh , another man just like my husband!! He suffered from the same "ailments" as yourself. Try apple cider. Seriously. Read this link asap & all its links:

http://www.operastars.com/features.htm

..i it changed my husband's life. If you, reduce your meat intake. My hub went vegetarian last fall and he's a whole new man. Good luck - ot at least, stock up on your Immodium.
