Codeine is found in a number of over the counter painkillers in the UK. However, I am aware that it is illegal in some countries. Does anyone know which countries? I am going on a round the world trip in a few days and want to know if I can take it to South and Central America, USA, Hong Kong, China Thailand, Vietnam, and India.

You should be able to take it in the US only with a prescription, unless you hide it strategically and don't get caught.
