I understand that many vaccinations are strongly recommended for travel to Asia, especially those for hepatitis A, malaria, polio, and other diseases, but has anyone foregone the vaccinations in favor of homeopathic precautions instead?

I'm planning a trip to Nepal with my daughter, who will at that time be 13. She's never been vaccinated, excepted for tetanus.

Obviously, this is not the place for a big debate on effectiveness on vaccines, but I thought I'd mention that the reason she hasn't been vaccinated is that in the research I've done, I feel that the risks of the vaccines are too high of a gamble.

I also know that hepatitis A is very, very serious, but if proper precautions are taken (stringent hand-washing, only using sterilized water, even for brushing teeth, and only eating totally cooked food and fruit that can be peeled by us, and many other things), is the risk still that great?

If anyone has any information on where to obtain more information on what people have done in lieu of vaccations for travel to Asia, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Thanks!
