I'm sure this is one of those things that the media is over-hyping, but I done read it in Time magazine so I thought I should pass it on.

When applying both sunblock and Deet to your skin, you should do so 1/2 apart from eachother (i.e., let one dry before you apply the other). I guess using both wet on top of eachother can cause sever rashes (ok, no duh) but also the chance of increased blood pressure.

just something to think about...

Never heard that before. Of course, I am very familiar with problems caused by sunblock and with insect repellant, the solvents that are in them frequently wreak havoc upon fabrics (we used to test for that at The North Face).

However, sunblock products with insect repellant are available and are commonly used by bass fisherman.
